How much does a website cost?
A website in Finland typically costs around €300–10,000 + VAT depending on three things:
A simple website of a few pages costs under a thousand euros, while larger custom builds run to several thousand. On top of the one-off cost, it’s worth setting aside a small ongoing budget for maintenance and the domain.
Below we go through what really makes up the price, what the price ranges look like in practice and which extra services affect the total.
What makes up the price of a website?
There is no single right price for a website, because a "website" can mean anything from a one-page business card to a multi-page site or an online shop. Four factors explain most of the price differences:
Number of pages. The more pages, the more design, content and build work. A single-page "one pager" is clearly cheaper than a site with, for example, a home page, several service pages, case studies, a blog and a contact page.
Features. A basic site that presents the business and leads visitors to get in touch is affordable. The price goes up when you add, for example, online booking, e-commerce, a members’ area, forms, multiple languages or integrations with other systems.
Level of design. A site built on a ready-made theme is quick and affordable, but looks like many others. A custom design that reflects your business costs more, but stands out and sells better.
Content. If the text, images and logo are ready, there is less work. If the content is produced from scratch, that shows in the price.
In a nutshell:
A basic website for a small business typically costs €300–1,500 + VAT. A custom, growth-focused website usually falls in the €1,500–5,000 + VAT range. Sivusuunta’s custom website packages start at €550 + VAT.

Ongoing costs and extra services
On top of the one-off price, a website comes with small running costs and optional extra services. It’s worth including these in your budget in advance.
Domain name. Your own address, such as yourcompany.fi, typically costs around €10–30 + VAT a year.
Web hosting / server space. Where the website lives. For a small business, around €5–20 + VAT a month, sometimes included in the price.
Maintenance. Updates, backups, security and small changes. The typical level is around €20–100 + VAT a month or as an annual package. Maintenance keeps the site fast and secure. Without it, the site ages and becomes exposed to problems.
Web analytics. Setting up visitor tracking (for example Google Analytics or a lighter, cookie-free alternative) tells you where visitors come from and what works on the site.
Further development and search engine optimization. New pages, new content and better search visibility are separate, optional investments – but they are exactly what makes a site more and more profitable over time.
How do you know which price is right for you?
Start with the goal, not the price. First think about what the site needs to do: present the business, bring in enquiries, sell online or something else. Once the goal is clear, the right price range follows naturally.
A good rule of thumb: choose the most affordable solution that still meets your goals. A website that’s too cheap can easily deliver nothing, but overpriced heavy machinery doesn’t help either if you don’t need it.
