What is web analytics?
Web analytics is the measurement of a website's visitors and what they do: it tells you how many people visit, where they come from, what they do on the site and what leads to an enquiry. For a business, web analytics shows which pages and marketing channels bring in customers and what is worth improving on the site.
-
Visitors
How many?
You see how many people visit your site and which pages they view.
-
Traffic sources

You see what leads to an enquiry and what is worth improving on the site.
What does web analytics track?

With Google Analytics (GA4) we track visitors, page views, clicks, traffic sources, devices, countries, conversions and traffic from AI search. With light analytics we track visitors, page views, bounce rate, countries and devices.

How does web analytics work?
Web analytics has three stages: setup, ongoing tracking and a report every 3 months.
-
Step 1
Setup
Sivusuunta sets up analytics on your website. For web analytics (GA4), the setup includes Google Tag Manager, Consent Mode, a cookie banner and conversion tracking.
-
Step 2
Tracking
Analytics tracks visitor numbers, page views, bounce rate, and traffic by country and device. Web analytics (GA4) also tracks traffic sources, conversions and traffic from AI search.
-
Step 3
Report
You get a report every 3 months: a dashboard of the results, a summary of the period and an assessment of what to expect in the coming months.
Web analytics setup is included free of charge with a new website.
Marketing analytics: where do enquiries come from?
Marketing analytics shows whether enquiries come from Google, ads, social media or AI search. That way you know which marketing is worth spending money on.
If Google search brings few enquiries, SEO for business improves visibility in Google and AI search.
